BUILDING INSPECTION POLICY CHANGE: Effective Monday, June 1, 2015, a minimum of a set of temporary stairs or an OSHA approved ladder and method of use is to be provided when entry to a building or structure is required to perform a requested inspection.
The 2009 edition of The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, hereafter known as the "VUSBC", went into effect March 1, 2011. It is comprised of the three parts which are the; Virginia Construction Code, The Virginia Rehabilitation Code and The Virginia Maintenance Code and governs the general administration and code amendments to the referenced code standards.
The referenced model codes are the 2009 International Codes as incorporated by the 2006 Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) and the 2008 National Electrical Code.
Within the group of Virginia Codes also are; The Fire Prevention code, Industrialized Building Safety Regulations, Amusement Device Regulations, Certification Standards, the Manufactured Home Safety Regulations and maintenance, building and residential codes.
